SSC Tuatara - the peaked backed lizard with super speedy DNA
Shelby SuperCars has been the bane of the Bugatti Veyron’s existence almost since its inception, because it’s the American Muscle response to the Bugatti technological tour de force. And it keeps on coming, this time with the SSC Tuatara. Currently the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport holds the world speed record for a production car, having wrested that from the SSC Ultimate Aero.
The Cadillac Ciel concept, a four-seat convertible, has just been revealed at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. "The Ciel is about the romance of the drive," says Clay Dean, global design director of Cadillac. "It emulates the great touring cars seen on the greens at Pebble Beach, but with a modern flair that projects Cadillac's vision for the future."
Interior design manager Gael Buzyn says, "Simplicity and lightness ensure nothing distracts from the open driving experience, while the color and materials lend the feeling that the vehicle's environment blends with the surroundings."
The four-door Cadillac Ciel concept was developed with a long, low proportion, reminiscent of classic automobiles, while the interior features Italian olive wood, machined aluminum and hand-tipped leather.
Fiat 500 Coupe Zagato to go in to production
When we counted up the number of cars that appeared at the Geneva Motor Show this year it came to over 200. Not all the cars were new arrivals and many were a bit dull. But one we did miss was this rather appealing Concept Fiat 500 – the Fiat 500 Coupe Zagato – which is not just a Zagato take on the 500 but an entirely new Fiat 500 shape – the 500 Coupe.
